SUPERHEAT SENSOR SOLVES AGE-OLD PROBLEM.

Type of article: Article

Summary

WITH MULTICIRCUIT EVAPORATOR COILS FED BY A THERMOSTATIC EXPANSION VALVE, THE TEMPERATURE SENSED BY THE VALVE BULB MAY BE UNDULY AFFECTED BY LIQUID OVERFEEDING THROUGH AN UNDERLOADED CIRCUIT. TO OVERCOME THIS, A SENSING UNIT FOR THE BULB HAS BEEN PRODUCED WHICH IS IN EFFECT A MIXING DEVICE. VAPOUR AND LIQUID FROM THE VARIOUS CIRCUIT OUTLETS IS MIXED AND THE RESULTANT AVERAGE CONDITION IS SENSED BY THE THERMOSTATIC EXPANSION VALVE BULB. VALVE HUNTING IS THEREBY REDUCED AND EVAPORATOR EFFICIENCY IMPROVED BY CLAIMS OF AS MUCH AS 30%. D.W.H.
