Surface tension of aqueous lithium bromide with controlled vapour concentration of 2-ethyl-hexanol.

Author(s) : YUAN Z., HEROLD K. E.

Summary

The surface tension of 60% aqueous lithium bromide solution in the presence of 2-ethyl-hexanol (2EH) in air was measured using a drop volume method. The measurement results show that the effect of 2EH from the vapour side is significant and 2EH concentration in air is a dominant variable compared with the effect of 2EH from the liquid side. It was found that the 2EH vapour concentration must be closely controlled in order to obtain repeatable and accurate data.
