Summary
Finned-tube heat exchangers are undergoing a technological change depending on the producing country, markets, product type (air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, transport), and also the size and make-up of the manufacturers. Observed technological changes have resulted from a reduction in production costs, improved quality, an increase in heat exchanger capacity and compactness, better integration of heat exchangers in various systems, together with their adaptability to new refrigerants. Finally the growth and use of European standards. J.L.
