Summary
Energy management for HVAC systems are usually realized using measurement functions of today's advanced Building Automation and Control Systems, BACS. However, in terms of history of BACS evolution, energy management is not a main function. This paper describes how the uncertainty of measured data, which are obtained through BACS functions, should be considered when analysing the energy efficiencies, conforming to ISO guidelines, Guide to the expression of Uncertainty in Measurement. The efficiency analysis of refrigerating machines and HVAC systems is also discussed.
