Summary

This article reports on research into effectiveness of a supply air window: a glazed device with a space between the inner and outer sashes that enables ventilation air in winter to be preheated before it enters the room. The research studies the requirements for best performance, including the appropriate dimensional characteristics of a window and the correct location of a low-emissivity coating within the glazing assembly. The performance of the window was monitored and a comparison was made of actual performance against a simulation.
