THE ANALYSIS AND EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF BUILDING ENVELOPE ON ENERGY CONSERVATION DESIGNS.

Summary

IN ORDER TO PROVIDE A DIRECT VERIFICATION ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF VARIOUS BUILDING ENERGY CONSERVATION STRATEGIES, A FULL-SCALE TEST HOUSE WAS CONSTRUCTED FOR EXPERIMENTATION. THE THEORETICAL ANALYSIS AND THE EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION PERFORMED CORRELATED VERY WELL. THE TYPICAL BRICK WALL USED IN TAIWAN WAS IDENTIFIED TO HAVE A TIME LAG OF 5 HOURS. NIGHT TIME VENTILATION AND PRECOOLING DESIGN STRATEGIES CAN THEREFORE BE APPLIED IN THIS AREA IN REDUCING PEAK AIR-CONDITIONING LOAD.
