THE ANALYSIS OF A HYBRID COOLING SYSTEM. 1. MATHEMATICAL MODELLING AND SYSTEM SIMULATION.

Type of article: Article

Summary

THE SYSTEM IS COMPOSED OF A CHEMICAL DEHUMIDIFIER TO DEHUMIDIFY THE INCOMING AIR AND THEN FOLLOWED BY A CONVENTIONAL AIR CONDITIONER TO LOWER THE TEMPERATURE. THE ANALYSIS STARTS WITH MODELLING THE CHEMICAL DEHUMIDIFIER WITH A THERMODYNAMIC ADIABATIC-REGENERATION PROCESS. WHILE OUTPUT CONDITIONS OF THE DEHUMIDIFIED AIR ARE GENERATED AND IMPUTED SPONTANEOUSLY TO THE CONVENTIONAL AIR CONDITIONER MODEL, THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS SIMULATED. SIMULATION RESULTS OF THE HYBRID SYSTEM INDICATED LARGE ENERGY SAVING POTENTIALS OVER THE CONVENTIONAL SYSTEM IN INDUSTRIAL DRYING APPLICATIONS.
