THE ANALYSIS OF A HYBRID COOLING SYSTEM. 2. EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION AND APPLICATION.

Author(s) : YANG K. H.

Type of article: Article

Summary

DURING THE FIRST PHASE OF THE STUDY, THE MATHEMATICAL MODELLING AND THE PERFORMANCE OF THE HYBRID COOLING SYSTEM USING SOLID DESICCANTS WERE ANALYZED NUMERICALLY. THE EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION YIELDED SUCCESSFUL RESULTS WITH 5% DEVIATION AS COMPARED WITH THE OPERATIONAL DATA OF AVAILABLE COMMERCIAL DEHUMIDIFIERS. A PROTOTYPE HYBRID COOLING SYSTEM WAS CONSTRUCTED AND IT GENERATED GOOD CORRELATIONS WITH ONLY A 7% DEVIATION. THE GOOD CORRELATIONS OBTAINED BETWEEN MATHEMATICAL MODELLING, COMMERCIAL UNIT OPERATIONAL DATA, AND THE PROTOTYPE SYSTEM WARRANT THE POTENTIAL APPLICATIONS OF THIS SYSTEM.
