DESCRIBES THE USE OF TRACER GAS TECHNIQUES FOR MEASURING AIR FLOW IN DUCTS. DISCUSSES EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURES FOR THE USE OF CONSTANT-INJECTION, PULSE-INJECTION AND CONCENTRATION-DECAY TECHNIQUES. ALSO DESCRIBES A NEW TRACER GAS SYSTEM WITH VARIABLE SAMPLING SPEED WHICH WAS USED TO MEASURE THE DECAY OF TRACER GAS CONCENTRATION. COMPARES MEASUREMENTS OF AIR FLOW USING EACH OF THE 3 TRACER GAS TECHNIQUES WITH MEASUREMENTS MADE WITH A PITOT TUBE. FINDS THE CLOSEST AGREEMENT WITH MEASUREMENTS MADE WITH THE CONSTANT-INJECTION TECHNIQUE.
