Summary

THE EFFECT OF 4.2 K-TWISTING STRAIN ON SECOND CRITICAL FIELD H IS STUDIED ON A COARSEGRAINED VANADIUM. IN THE REGION OF ELASTIC STRAIN A MODEST INCREASE IN H CAN BE OBSERVED. BEYOND THE YIELD STRESS THE STRAIN IS INHOMOGENEOUS. AT THE POINTS OF LOCALIZED PLASTIC FLOW (TWIN BOUNDARIES, LARGE DISLOCATION PILEUPS) H AND TRANSITION TEMPERATURE INCREASE DUE TO INCREASE IN THE ELECTRON-PHONON INTERACTION CONSTANT.
