The design of heat pumps by simulation.

Author(s) : CONDE M. R.

Summary

Heat pumps for space heating, in particular of the air-source type, operate under extremely variable working conditions. The solution to this problem requires extensive testing in the development phase, which significantly increases the cost of the individual machine. Alternatively, the design of heat pumps by simulation permits the cheap study of the machine's performance under almost all possible operating conditions, and eventually the fine tuning together of the key components. The paper describes the methodology of development of a computer program created for the design of heat pumps, and shows results of its verification using measured data.
