The effect of a precooler to air curtains in refrigerated display cabinets.

Summary

This study focused on a mid-temperature multi-shelf vertical display cabinet. In order to improve the performance of the display cabinet, a new design was carried out in the refrigeration system. There were two heat exchangers. The first one was a precooler which was used to cool the return air and the second one was the evaporator which cooled the air to the discharge air temperature. The experimentation showed that after the precooler was employed the downtrend of the air circulation rate and the uptrend of the temperature became gently. The seal ability of the air curtain was strengthened and then the performance of the display cabinet was improved when the precooler was used.
