Summary

THE HISTOLOGICAL STRUCTURE OF THAWED THYROID GLAND OF PATIENTS WITH DIFFUSE-TOXIC GOITER WAS STUDIED AFTER 3 YEAR CRYOPRESERVATION AND THE ABILITY OF SLICES TO INCORPORATE 131 I AND TO FORM 131 I AMINO ACIDS WAS ESTIMATED. IT WAS DEMONSTRATED THAT THE INCORPORATION OF 131 I IS MORE ACTIVE INTO FROZEN-THAWED THYROID GLAND PROTEINS THAN INTO PROTEINS OF FRESH THYROID GLAND.
