The effect of micro-scale surface treatment on heat and mass transfer performance in a falling film H2O/LiBr absorber.

Summary

The objectives of this study were to develop a new method of wettability measurement, to investigate the effect of micro-scale surface treatment on the wettability in a LiBr/H2O falling film absorber and to apply the wettability to numerical analysis of heat and mass transfer in a LiBr/H2O falling film absorber. Three absorber tubes with micro-scale roughness were tested. The wettability of the structured surface was higher than that of the bare tube. Variations in wettability (according to several parameters) were studied.
