AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS ARE WRONGLY ACCUSED OF PROPAGATING THE LEGIONNAIRES' DISEASE WHICH IS TRANSMITTED BY BACTERIA. IT SHOULD BE SPECIALLY STRESSED THAT THERE ARE TWO KINDS OF PULMONARY INFECTIONS, ONE IS BENIGN AND THE OTHER MORE DANGEROUS BUT LESS FREQUENT. THE PAPER DEALSWITH THE PROBLEM, BOTH FROM MEDICAL AND TECHNICAL VIEWPOINTS. SOME DOUBTS ARE ELIMINATED AND DATA ARE GIVEN ABOUT PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKE THE RISK POINTS OF AN AIR CONDITIONING PLANT ARE IN FACT FEW AND EASILY CONTROLLABLE.
