Summary

Study of the training requirements for the Moroccan refrigeration sector and of the resultant action. Changes in agriculture and tourism necessitates development of the cold chain and air conditioning. Various sectors are examined together with the current situation of refrigerating equipment by product: fruits and vegetables (a total of 78.4%, 40% of which is for export), fish, meat, etc. Skilled labour will be also required for refrigerated road transport and for the manufacture of refrigerating equipment. To conclude, the creation of a Moroccan Institute of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning is suggested, which would have 4 functions: resource centre, training, educational assistance, and advice and assistance for businesses.
