The stress and deflection analysis for the radial blades of the roto-cooler air conditioning system.

Author(s) : HUANG Y. M., CHANG C. H.

Type of article: Article, IJR article

Summary

The governing equations are derived by using the finite element method. The assumptions used in the analysis are that air properties in the blade segments are uniform and the rotor is a rigid body. A computer code is generated for the personal computer to reduce the cost of design. The calculated results of the stress and the deflection of the blades are compared and show good agreement with those obtained by the available software ABAQUS. The distributions of the stress and the deflection of the radial blades for the roto-cooler air conditioning system are analyzed. The locations and the magnitudes of the maximum stresses and the maximum displacement of the blades are determined. The calculated factor of safety of the blades is 11.
