IT IS WELL KNOWN THAT INFECTIOUS GERMS CAN BE AIR BORNE IN AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS, WITH UNTREATED WATER IN HUMIDIFIERS AND COOLING TOWERS BEING THE MAIN CULPRITS. ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION CAN NOW BE USED TO DESTROY GERMS AND BACTERIA IN THE VARIOUS COMPONENTS OF AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS AND IN CLEAN ROOM AREAS.
