Summary

A refrigeration cycle driven by a twin screw compressor and having an economiser (superfeed) is investigated with a view to optimising a combination of the superfeed port design and the cycle operating conditions. The type of the superfeed used, i.e. an open flash type or a heat exchanger type is considered in the study. The effect of the superfeed port position on the performance of the compressor and the whole refrigeration system is studied.
