THE PAPER OUTLINES THE METHODOLOGY FOR EVALUATING DISCHARGE LINE STRESS UNDER FIELD GENERATED LIQUID SLUGGING CONDITIONS. EMPHASIS WILL BE ON THE TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES USED TO EVALUATE POSSIBLE OPTIONS AND VERIFY THE FINAL DESIGN. VISUALIZATION AND MEASUREMENT OF THE LINE DYNAMICS USING HIGH SPEED PHOTOGRAPHY WILL BE DISCUSSED. THE DEVELOPMENT OF LABORATORY BENCH TESTS THAT SIMULATE THE ACTUAL COMPRESSOR OPERATING CONDITIONS IN THE SYSTEM PLAYED A KEY ROLE IN THE ANALYSIS.
