Summary

In response to the potential demand for the solar-powered air conditioning, a theoretical and experimental investigation on the solar-powered solid adsorption for air conditioning was conducted. The paper presents descriptions and results of this investigation. The silica gel/water is selected as the absorbent/refrigerant pair based on analysis of their performance under specific conditions. The structure design of the solar-powered solid adsorption air conditioning experimental facility is presented. The test results indicate that the solar powered solid adsorption air conditioning using silica gel/water as the working pair, is technically feasible.
