Summary
MEASUREMENTS MADE ON AN EXPERIMENTAL COOLING TOWER MADE IT POSSIBLE TO DETERMINE HEAT AND MASS EXCHANGE COEFFICIENTS AND PRESSURE LOSS THROUGH ITS FILL, WHICH CONSTITUTE THE THERMAL AND HYDRAULIC CHARACTERISTICS. TWO TYPES OF FILL MADE FROM CORRUGATED ASBESTOS-CEMENT PLATES WERE TESTED. CALCULATIONS WERE MADE WITH A UNIDIMENSIONAL MATHEMATICAL MODEL AND THEY WERE INTERPRETED IN A DIMENSIONLESS FORM. MEASUREMENT DATA ARE GIVEN. J.L.
