Summary

IN THE COMPARISON OF THE DIFFERENT DESIGN SOLUTIONS, USING PASSIVE COMPONENTS, THE ONLY FACTORS GENERALLY ALLOWED FOR ARE ENERGY SAVINGS AND COSTS. THIS STUDY SHOWS THAT THE COMPARISONS SHOULD BE MADE WITH EQUAL LEVEL OF THERMAL COMFORT. IT IS ALSO POSSIBLE TO COMPARE DESIGN SOLUTIONS RELATED TO DIFFERENT AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS. A SIMULATION METHOD IS PROPOSED, WHICH, WITH A SUITABLE INDEX, QUANTIFIES ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND COMFORT LEVEL.
