Summary

HEAT TRANSMISSION THROUGH PACKINGS OF POWDERED MICA FLAKES HAS BEEN DETERMINED BY MEASURING APPARENT THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY BY GUARDED HOT PLATE METHOD. THE MEASUREMENT WAS REPEATED BY COOLING THE SYSTEM TO 90 K. THE SYSTEM WAS THEN EVACUATED TO THE ORDER OF 1.33 MPA TO DETERMINE THE HEAT TRANSMISSION THROUGH SOLID INSULANT OF THE SYSTEM FROM 300 DOWN TO 90 K.
