Thermal performance of housing in the hot-humid tropics of Australia.
Author(s) : HYDE R., DOCHERTY M.
Type of article: Article
Summary
Reports the findings of thermal performance studies of a number of houses in Cairns, Australia, built of differing construction systems. Where selective use of active systems is integrated into the building design, the excessive use of mass and insulation to save energy may compromise the efficiency of passive systems and also thermal comfort.
