Thermodynamic optimization of the irreversible reversed cycle: the case of a vapour compression machine.

Optimisation thermodynamique de cycle inversé irreversible : cas d'une machine à compression de vapeur.

Author(s) : FEIDT M., BENELMIR R.

Summary

An original approach to the optimization of energy systems is presented for the case of a dithermal machine. The approach is based on the introduction of a new requirement: the preservation of the exchange surface. In addition, heat losses are taken into account through the intermediary of a pseudo-conductance between the hot and cold reservoirs. The optimization procedure is based on the Lagrange multipliers method in which the objective function for the case of a refrigerating machine is either the work of the compressor or the refrigerating capacity. A sensitivity study was done based on the fluid temperatures in contact with the reservoirs. The results presented validate and generalize the results obtained in preceeding work.
