Summary
COOLING SYSTEMS FOR SUPERCONDUCTING FIELD WINDINGS OF CRYOTURBOGENERATORS ARE EXAMINED FROM THE STANDPOINT OF CRYOSTABILIZATION. SEVERAL POSSIBLE DESIGNS BASED ON THE THERMOSIPHON EFFECT ARE CONSIDERED AND THE MOST PROMISING SYSTEM IS SELECTED. THE CALCULATION METHOD FOR AN OPEN-CIRCUIT THERMOSIPHON IS DEVELOPED, WHICH GIVES GOOD AGREEMENT WITH EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS. IT IS SHOWN THAT CRYOSTABILIZATION OF SUPERCONDUCTING WINDINGS IS POSSIBLE UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
