Summary

A CRYOSTAT HAS BEEN CONSTRUCTED FOR MEASUREMENTS BETWEEN 3 AND 7.5 K, TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE LARGE SPECIFIC HEAT OF HELIUM 4 UNDER PRESSURE TO GIVE A TYPICAL TEMPERATURE STABILITY OF ABOUT 0.03 MILLIK. FOLLOWING THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS APPARATUS MEASUREMENTS CAN BE MADE AT TEMPERATURES HIGHER THAN 4.2 K WITH HIGH TEMPERATURE STABILITY.
