IN THE UK AND EUROPE, HEAT PUMPS HAVE BEEN USED FOR INDOOR POOLS FOR MANY YEARS AND THEIR EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENES IS WELL PROVEN. THE FIRST TWO HEAT PUMP BASED SYSTEMS TO BE INSTALLED IN AUSTRALIA ARE IN THE COURSE OF COMMISSIONING AND USEFUL PERFORMANCE DATA SHOULD BE AVAILABLE WITHIN 12 MONTHS. THE SYSTEM PROVED TO BE NO MORE COSTLY THAN A LOW ENERGY TRADITIONAL SYSTEM, AND IT IS CONSERVATIVELY PREDICTED THAT ENERGY COSTS WILL BE REDUCED BY AT LEAST $ 15,000 PER YEAR.
