Transient cool-down of a porous medium in pulsating flow.

Type of article: Article

Summary

When the pulsation amplitude is large so that reverse flows are present, the global heat transfer between the porous medium and the through flow becomes smaller than for the case of the corresponding non-pulsating flow. For a given amplitude, the heat transport rate from the porous material decreases as the pulsation frequency decreases.
