Summary
A complete mathematical model for transient two-dimensional heat pipes is presented. The numerical results for both simulated compressible vapour flow with high Mach numbers and the vapour flow of a high-temperature heat pipe are compared with the experimental data in the literature. The transient responses of heat pipes to a pulsed heat input are also investigated.
