Use of compact heat and mass exchangers in a compression-absorption heat pump working with the water-ammonia binary mixture: theoretical and experimental results.

Utilisation d'échangeurs compacts de chaleur et de matière dans une machine à compression-absorption fonctionnant avec le couple eau-ammoniac : résultats théoriques et expérimentaux.

Summary

The first part of the text is dedicated to the presentation of vertical-plates compact heat and mass exchangers, and of their better compactness compared to classical tube-bundle exchangers. The second part of the text is about the modelling and the trials of these compact heat and mass exchangers set up in a compression-absorption heat pump experimental prototype. This prototype, which is presented, was designed for high temperature heat production (up to 120 deg C or more) from the waste energy contained in some industrial discharges whose temperature is between 60 and 80 deg C; it works with a water-ammonia binary mixture.
