USE OF COMPARATIVE COEFFICIENTS OF FROST LAYER FORMATION AND HEAT TRANSFER INTENSITY FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF VARIABLE SYSTEMS OF THE MOIST SOIL FREEZING.

Author(s) : KALINOWSKI E., BUCEWICZ A.

Summary

IN ORDER TO EVALUATE VARIOUS FREEZING METHODS FOR MOIST SOILS, COMPARISON INDICES ARE INTRODUCED DEFINING THE INTENSITY OF THE PROCESS AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION. THE AUTHORS SOLVED A SIMPLIFIED MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF A FREEZING PROCESS AND CALCULATED FREEZING WITH BRINE OR LIQUID NITROGEN FOR TWO TYPES OF MOIST SOILS: SAND AND CLAY. THE CALCULATION RESULTS ARE GIVEN IN DIAGRAMS AND THEY ARE DISCUSSED.
