Type of article: Article

Summary

General description of a falling-film exchanger, including several elongations, surface areas and compactnesses. A first application of these definitions consists in classifying the different interposed-plate profiles as a function of their effective-surface-area volume compactnesses. A second application deals with a comparison of volume compactnesses of exchange surfaces, capacity and conductance of the absorber and desorber of a experimental prototype compression-absorption heat pump built at Electricité de France with the smooth-tube absorber and desorber at equivalent thermal conductances.
