USE OF FINNED TUBES FOR COOLING WITH DEHUMIDIFICATION OF WASTE GASES.

UTILISATION DE TUBES A AILETTES POUR LE REFROIDISSEMENT AVEC CONDENSATION D'HUMIDITE D'EFFLUENTS GAZEUX.

Summary

THE AUTHORS DESCRIBE IN DETAIL A METHOD OF CALCULATING FINNED TUBE HEAT EXCHANGERS USED FOR MOIST WASTE GAS COOLING WITH PARTIAL CONDENSATION. AT EACH STEP OF THE CALCULATION, THE AUTHORS ESTABLISH A FORMAL ANALOGY WITH THE CORRESPONDING EQUATIONS APPLICABLE TO THE SAME EXCHANGER, BUT WITHOUT CONDENSATION. THE THEORY HAS BEEN CHECKED AGAINST EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS. FAIRLY GOOD AGREEMENT HAS BEEN FOUND. THIS THEORY HAS BEEN USED TO INVESTIGATE THE EFFECT OF DIMENSIONAL PARAMETERS OF THE FIN, AS WELL AS OPERATIONAL CONDITIONS ON THERMAL PERFORMANCE AND PRESSURE DROP OF FINNED TUBE BANKS.
