Summary

In the framework of an international project subsidized by the EU, the applicability of vacuum insulation for insulating ducts at cryogenic temperatures has been studied. Due to its low thermal conductivity, vacuum insulation generates a significant space-saving potential. The research has shown that vacuum insulation remains stable at low temperatures for a long period of time. Moreover, the possibility of producing specially formed elements for a complete insulation system has been shown.
