Summary

THE STUDIES CARRIED OUT TO DETERMINE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS REVEALED THAT THEIR THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY CAN VARY WITH THEIR TEMPERATURE AND THEIR WATER CONTENT, AND THAT, FOR CERTAIN MATERIALS, THE PERMEABILITY TO VAPOUR DEPENDS ON THE MEASUREMENT CONDITIONS, IN PARTICULAR ON THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY OF THE AMBIENT AIR. THE AIM OF THE ARTICLE IS TO PRESENT THIS INFLUENCE OF HUMIDITY ON THE TRADITIONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF MATERIALS, AND TO DEDUCE A STEADY-STATE SOLUTION LEADING TO AN EXTENSION OF THE GLASER METHOD TO TRANSFERS IN HYGROSCOPIC MATERIALS.
