Summary

A solar-driven cooling system was modelled and simulated. The main feature of the system is a small absorption chiller with a cooling capacity of 15 kW. A variation of important components such as the solar collector and cooling tower has been performed. The results show the influence of these variations on the performance of the complete system for some exemplary applications based on climate data for German and Spanish sites. Conclusions are drawn for the sizing of such systems.
