SYSTEMS DESIGNED USING DUCT OR LOUVERSIZED CONTROL DAMPERS AND RETURN AIR FANS, CAN CONSUME MORE ENERGY THAN A SYSTEM WITHOUT THE ECONOMIZER CYCLE. SUCH SYSTEMS SEEM TO OPERATE PROPERLY IF ANY ONE CONTROL LOOP IS TESTED WHILE THE OTHERS ARE DISABLED. TIGHTER SPECIFICATIONS,MORE ATTENTION TO SIZING THE OUTSIDE AND RETURN DUCT SYSTEMS, AND AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE RETURN FAN, WILL INSURE A BETTER VAV OUTSIDE ECONOMIZER SYSTEM.
