Summary

FOR THE VISUALIZATION OF THE CHARACTERISTICS OF AIR FLOW IN A ROOM, THE LASER LIGHT SHEET METHOD IS EXTREMELY USEFUL. THE SOURCE OF THE LIGHT SHEET IS A HIGH POWER ARGON ION LASER. THE LASER BEAM IS DIRECTED BY AN OPTICAL FIBER AND IS CHANGED INTO A LIGHT SHEET BY A CYLINDRICAL LENS. FINE PARTICLES ARE USED AS THE TRACER AND THROUGH THIS SYSTEM, IT IS POSSIBLE TO TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS WHICH CLARIFY THE FINE STRUCTURE OF EDDIES IN TURBULENT AIR FLOW IN A ROOM AND AROUND OBSTACLES. IT IS ALSO POSSIBLE TO VISUALIZE DUST DIFFUSION IN A ROOM.
