Summary

The paper describes the water vapour desorption characteristics of honeycomb shape type sorbent elements containing new organic sorbent of the bridged complex of sodium polyacrylate. The transient experiments were carried out under various conditions of air velocity, temperature, relative humidity and honeycomb length. The data obtained for the desorption process were compared with those for the sorption process. Finally, the Sherwood number of mass transfer of the organic sorbent for the desorption process was derived in terms of Reynolds number, modified Stefan number and non-dimensional honeycomb length.
