Summary

The refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump industry (RACHP) is an ever-increasing part of the world’s economy. As climate change progresses, growing demand for air conditioning and heat pumps is reflected in the demand for engineers and technicians in this sector. However, women and ethnic minorities continue to be underrepresented in this sector. It is imperative to attract young people to the sector - especially women and minorities - so it can continue to grow with our greener future. Here are presented the findings on the current state of the work force in North America, and the results of a survey conducted by the International Institute of Refrigeration on women currently in RACHP in North America.
