The Latin American market for room and packaged air conditioning has risen to USD 793 million in 2000, with a forecast increase to over USD 1 billion and 2.2 million units by the year 2004. Brazil is the fastest growing country and is forecast to account for 50% of the region in terms of value by 2004. Argentina currently accounts for 21% and Mexico 17% in terms of value, followed by Venezuela, with Puerto Rico emerging as the fifth largest market in Latin America.
