Type of article: Article

Summary

The current survey has covered two categories: "room air conditioning" for residences and "packaged air conditioning" for shops, restaurants and offices. In the survey, data up to '94 was collected and analyzed to estimate production, export/import and demand per each geographical block; and demand for '95 and '96 was estimated from the subsequent tendencies. The world total demand for air conditioning in '94 is estimated to have reached 28,226,000 units, up 21.4% over '93. The demand in '95, however, is likely to have reached 30,098,000 units, up 6.6% over '94, and that in '96 is predicted to reach 30,178,000 units, remaining level with '95.
