Summary

The paper presents the results of a test campaign on the air-conditioning system installed at the Warner Village multi-room cinema in Marcon (Venice) carried out over the period from September 2000 to September 2001. The plant is based on an innovative air conditioning system; a rooftop packaged unit, which was especially designed for crowded rooms such as cinemas, theatres, congress halls, auditoria, meeting rooms, etc. The results obtained following a year monitoring period are presented and discussed in this paper. Its aim is to verify the reliability, comfort level and energy efficiency of the system as well as to highlight its possible advantages with respect to traditional solutions applied in Italy and in other countries.
