This new edition of the statistical presentation published by AGEFOS SME's observatory services highlights a very clear trend in employment: the very high proportion of permanent contracts (82%) and full-time jobs (91%) make this a particularly stable sector.
This new edition of the statistical presentation published by AGEFOS SME's observatory services highlights a very clear trend in employment: the very high proportion of permanent contracts (82%) and full-time jobs (91%) make this a particularly stable sector.
The sector comprised of 1,900 Businesses in 2011. These are mainly micro-enterprises (76% of the firms have fewer than 10 employees), but this proportion is lower than in the rest of the French economy (86%). The geographical distribution of firms is very similar to that of all other sectors of activity.
The employees are highly concentrated in enterprises with 10 to 50 employees (49% of the sector's employees), which distinguishes this sector from the overall economy (16%). The share of employees in micro-enterprises is close behind (30% vs 29% for the overall economy). Enterprises with 50 employees and more represent only 25% of the employees (versus 55% for the overall economy).
The main region in terms of number of enterprises is the Ile-de-France (greater Paris), with however a smaller proportion in comparison to the entire economy (17% vs 21% ). A third of the companies declare the installation of machines and mechanical equipment as their main activity (NAF 3320B), more than 2 businesses out of 10 claim making ventilation and refrigeration equipment (NAF 2825Z) and 10% work on the installation of thermal equipment and air conditioning (NAF 4322B). 23,600 people were employed in the sector in 2011.
