Growing sales of R32 air conditioners
The Japanese firm Daikin reports sales of 10 million R32 units since 2012.
In November 2012, the first air conditioner using R32 as an alternative to R410A was launched in Japan by the company Daikin. R32 has a GWP of 675 (compared to 2090 for R410A), but it is mildly flammable.
The R32 air conditioners are now well-established, since Daikin reports sales of 10 million units since 2012. Daikin estimates that with the sales of all other companies included, more than 27 million HFC-32 air conditioners have been sold as of March 2017.
