HFCs to be taxed in France in the near future?
In the “Roadmap for the Environmental Transition” published after the “Environmental Conference” held on September 14-15, 2012 in Paris, the French government raised the possibility of examining a potential tax on fluorinated gases used as refrigerants.

The document states: “concerning the fight against climate change, the government… will perform assessment studies on the appropriateness of levying a tax on fluorinated greenhouse gases used as refrigerants…” (on page 18, paragraph 7).
Such a tax, which would primarily concern HFCs, already exists in countries such as Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Slovenia and, more recently, Australia.
