Working Group - Demand-oriented Non-uniform Indoor Environment

Objectives of the working group

  • to share research progress on demand-oriented non-uniform indoor environments;
  • to demonstrate the efficiency of demand-oriented non-uniform indoor environments in real projects;
  • to disseminate the knowledge of demand-oriented non-uniform indoor environments.

Activities

Latest activities

  • Workshop in ICR 2019 (August 26, 2019 Montréal, Canada)

Title: Demand-Oriented Non-Uniform Indoor Environment & Dehumidification in Air Conditioning

A joint meeting was held during ICR2019. The IIR has formed working party "Demand-Oriented Non-Uniform Indoor Environment" and "Dehumidification in Air Conditioning" to share the related research progress in air conditioning and summarize the current research state, and clarify the technical road map for future. See the details

  • Workshop in ISHAVC 2019 (July 15, 2019 Harbin, China)

Title: Progress in Demand-oriented Non-uniform Air Distributions

The demand-oriented non-uniform indoor environment has become a focus of current air distribution research. The benefits of providing non-uniform indoor environmentsl was introduced in this workshop. The recent progress on the topic were focused on and discussed. This workshop helped researchers further develop advanced air distribution technology, which provides a demand-oriented non-uniform environment in the occupied zone. The workshop also discussed operation optimization with engineers and consultants for the practical application of advanced air distributions. See the details

  • Workshop in Roomvent ventilation 2018 (June 5,2018 Helsinki, Finland)

Title: Trends in Demand-oriented Non-uniform Air Distribution

There is a trend to provide demand-oriented non-uniform indoor environment in the occupied zone of a room. The benefits of providing non-uniform indoor environments was in the focus of this workshop. The recent developments on the topic were introduced and discussed. This workshop helped researchers further develop advanced air distribution technology, which provides demand-oriented non-uniform environment in the occupied zone. The workshop also discussed design guidelines with engineers and consultants for the practical application of advanced air distributions. See the details

Futures activities

An informatory note on “Demand-oriented non-uniform indoor environment” will be finished in 2020, and the report on the WG will be finished in 2022

  • Workshop in Roomvent 2020 (February 15, 2021 virtual conference)

Title: Occupant-centred Non-uniform Air Distribution

This workshop aims at discussing the recent developments on demand-oriented non-uniform air distributions as workable technical solutions. This workshop will help researchers further develop advanced air distribution technologies, which provide purposefully-differentiated thermal comfort and air quality in the occupied zone. Design related issues for the practical application of advanced air distributions will be discussed.
