Résumé

Fruits of 8 cultivars (Alwa, Arlet, Fiesta, Jester, Ligol, Lodel, Rubin and Szampion) were tested for their suitability for storage in normal atmospheres at 0 or 3 deg C and at 3 deg C under standard controlled atmosphere or ultra low oxygen (ULO) conditions. Apples of investigated cultivars could be stored for at least 4 months under cold storage conditions and at least 2 months longer under controlled atmosphere or ULO. For most cultivars, ULO gave better results. Fiesta and Szampion required treatment with calcium compounds to control bitter pit.
